BANGOR — The Ohio Street Farmers’ Market, now in its ninth year, has announced an increase in EBT/Snap discount from 10 percent to 15 percent. This discount is offered to bring the cost of fresh local produce and product closer to supermarket prices. EBT/SNAP users will receive $1 in Maine Harvest Bucks for each dollar spent on their card. Maine Harvest Bucks may be used to purchase fruits and vegetables, effectively doubling their buying power. Market manager, Rolf Staples Sr., said that the hope is that customers receiving food stamp benefits would find shopping for their families more affordable. The market is open 2-6 p.m. Wednesdays at Bangor Grange Hall, 1192 Ohio St.
