CAMDEN — Join Midcoast Community Chorus (MCC) to give voice to music from various cultures, traditions and musical genres. Whether you’re new to the area, a novice singer, or a returning one, you’re invited to register for MCC’s fall semester. Always welcome to join are new voices and singers of all ages and abilities, from age 13 years and up.
Registration will be 5-6:15 p.m. on the first two choral rehearsal evenings, Monday, Sept. 10, and Monday, Sept.17, in the Fellowship Room at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street. Register in advance by going online at mccsings.org to save time and get your music portfolio on arrival. A semester fee of $80 covers the cost of music and rehearsal space. Rehearsals follow immediately in the Sanctuary, and will continue every Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 pm. Weekly attendance is the norm and no audition is necessary .
MCC will be under the leadership of Steve Weston, artistic director, with Sean Fleming, assistant director as accompanist. Members of the chorus experience positive energy, fun, learning, and a collective feeling in the possibilities of MCC’s vision statement: “When we sing, we change who we are. When we change who we are, we change the world.”
Experienced singers have an opportunity to sing in concert more complex music and may audition for the 30-member MCC Chorale, also under the direction of Steven Weston.
The concert in preparation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019
MCC looks forward to having you with us as we start preparing for this moving, enjoyable, and colorful experience. Any questions or concerns, go online at mccsings.org or call 207-975-0852.
