The Traveling Duck of Justice has accompanied Melody (QOTFD) across the pond.
Her current situation came to me in the form of a message as follows-
“Bolsover Castle -pronounced Bowls-Over- is supposed to be the most haunted castle in Derbyshire. No ghosts to be found, though!”- Signed, Melody.
We don’t know if concerns with the TDOJ kept the spirits away or if Melody has been consuming spirits and missed the ghosts.
We don’t judge- it’s her trip.
If you are near Derbyshire and would like an opportunity to meet our Queen of the Front Desk, and have a photo with the world’s third most famous Duck’s carved likeness (TDOJ) leave a comment and Melody will be watching and may reach out to you.
She is traveling with security professionals so, keep it in mind.
We will be here, and there.
We turned on the Duck signal because we hadn’t heard from the TDOJ for six hours. Fortunately, Melody reached out from across the pond.
While I miss America (see what she did there?) I am having a wonderful time.
I’m sorry I have not been better at keeping in touch, here are some photos from today’s adventures.
The duck in front of Chatsworth House, which every fan of Pride and Prejudice knows as Pemberly, Mr. Darcy’s house. He wasn’t there, though. Believe me, my corset was worn tightly but security was tighter.
Then, a tragedy struck. The hand carved Traveling Duck of Justice fell Ill. Actually, he just fell.
His leg is broken and it was quite an affair for me to catch him after he was found swimming in circles for over an hour. No English gentlemen stopped to help.
I was soaked.
He is now resting comfortably with me at our accommodations. We will drink a Shandy and contemplate our next trip.
I will be in London and surrounding areas from September 17 through the 21st. It seems that many who want to meet him are in that area.
I will update you soon on the areas where our adventure will take us.
We have an appointment with the Ravenmaster and are excited to see him when visiting the Tower of London in a week or so.
P.S. Heading out to look for Wood Duck glue.
