At South China, the Oceanside Mariners scored four runs in the first inning and went on to defeat Erskine Academy.

Jack Freeman’s two-run single highlighted that early rally, and Oceanside went on to extend its lead to 10-1 with six runs in the top of the third. That rally featured Matt Waldron’s two-run double.

Uriah Thongsophaphone added four hits, a run and RBI for the 8-2 Mariners while Titus Kaewthong added two doubles, a single two runs scored and an RBI. Michael Norton Jr. doubled and singled, Michael Dougherty singled twice and Logan Sheridan doubled for coach Don Shields’ club, which also played errorless defense.

Nick Barber had four hits, including a double, and an RBI and Boomer Jorgensen added two singles, a run and an RBI to pace 4-6 Erskine Academy.
